How much does your share dealing service cost?
Our online dealing commission charge is a flat rate of £11.95 per trade (£12.50 from 31st of March).
Our share dealing accounts have no monthly or annual administration charges and if you’re looking for a Stocks & Shares ISA, you pay just £12.50 per year in administration (including VAT)! Plus the usual commission charges.
How do I transfer my shares to Halifax Share Dealing?
• Transferring your existing share dealing account to Halifax Share Dealing
If you’d like to transfer a share dealing account held with another broker, you’ll need to open a Halifax Share Dealing Account and then complete and return a Transfer Form D. We’ll then get in touch with your existing broker to start the transfer. We aim to complete all account transfers within 30 days. Please note, international stocks and funds can take 6 - 8 weeks to transfer.
• Transferring your existing stocks and shares ISA to Halifax Share Dealing
If you’d like to transfer a stocks and shares ISA held with another broker or ISA Manager, you’ll need to open a Halifax Stocks and Shares ISA and then complete and return our ISA Transfer Form. We’ll then contact your existing broker/ISA manager to start the transfer.
An ISA transfer takes around 30 days to complete from the date your existing broker/ISA manager accepts the transfer. Please note, international stocks and funds can take 6 - 8 weeks to transfer.Depositing share certificates with Halifax Share Dealing
• Depositing share certificates with Halifax Share Dealing
Depositing your existing share certificates is simple and once it’s done there’s no need to worry about missing paperwork – your shares will be held securely in our electronic nominee. You can then view and trade your shares online or over the phone.
To deposit your share certificate(s) you need to open a Halifax Share Dealing Account and complete a Transfer Form A and CREST Transfer Form for each stock you’re depositing. This process can take up to ten working days to complete.
How do I open a Halifax Share Dealing Account?
Opening a new Halifax Share Dealing Account is simple - all you need to do is complete our online application form and you could be trading in minutes.
To open your account you’ll need:
• Address details for the last three years
• Debit card and bank details
• National Insurance number (to open a Halifax Stocks and Shares ISA)
